Sloping, rear garden

This small rear garden sloped across its width with a change in level of nearly a metre. The client wanted to address the levels, create a more usable space to include a small, shaded seating area. Using upright wooden sleepers we created a raised border, retaining the soil on one side and raised the level on the opposite side to create a flat lawn. Clever rebuild on the existing steps allowed the garden to be easily accessible from the existing raised deck.
